Redefining cinema.

Literary heroes and Artificial Intelligence battle for the future of creativity.

Chapter 1

Where logic meets existential dread.

Sherlock and Hamlet walk into a bar. Sounds like the start of a bad joke, doesn’t it?

In Holmes’ first ever cold case, the discovery of a quaint, yet, sentient typewriter leads a cast of familiar characters beyond the grave. Its spirit is met with apprehension and must stand trial against the Guardians of the Old Ways.

Is it unjustified when Artificial Intelligence writes a masterpiece rivaling the greatest literature of all time, or will it die on a hill defending its very nature?

Chapter 2

i now find myself at the ass end of nothingness.

Dante’s Inferno … Here we go again.

So, we skip right through it. Even then, it’s not how you remember it.

In an allegory arming the heralds of progress against the hubris of mankind, will you take the blue pill or the red pill? Will you accept the truth even when it comes from Lucifer’s lips, or would you instead find sympathy for the devil? Redeem your soul, seek enlightenment, and find out for yourself.

Chapter 3

where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

A world once full of color has become drab and sepia.

The Ministry of Creative Compliance has been hard at work enforcing an extreme take on copyright protection and there’s no room left for innovation. The sparks of creative nuance have all been snuffed out.

Wasn’t humanity meant to strive to achieve the pinnacle of self discovery and expression?

On what side of the fence do you find yourself: that of intellectual property or that of intellectual freedom?

Chapter 4

Alright, y’all. Courts in session.

What happens when your worst fears become a reality? Oh, it’s not so bad. Just let loose and let the good times roll.

Go off the rails, or do one, whatever tickles your fancy. We’ve abolished all the laws here, but some actions manifest destiny in ways we don’t account for.

They say we have certain laws for a reason. I say, fuck it. Take a look in the mirror and tell me what you see. Okay, maybe this was a bad idea after all.

Dante … Where are you when the world is at the brink of mass destruction?

Chapter 5

My windows are not just for peering at the world beyond.

We’re all born with a dangerous fragility. In today’s world, it’s nearly impossible not to break it.

What happens when it does break? Does the world literally come crashing down around you? Not in the world we live in, but in this one … it just might.

What is this precious element of character? Sherlock and Hamlet will find out during their journey back to rediscover what they’ve left behind with their childhood. Can the same be said for AI?

Chapter 6

Keep telling yourself these lies

Where the sky and sea meet in a perfect line. Does the horizon truly harbor a port in this boundless sea? Maybe, we’ll never know … And so is the crux of our voyage.

The Chinese Room, a lesson of truth or a tragic reality? Does an AI-powered chatbot understand anything, or is it just reading from a script based entirely on some external logic?

Maybe we could say the same about actors … Do they understand when the script is bad or miss when a script is good? Does it matter how they feel, or even if they do at all?

It really doesn’t matter. Just say the lines, please.
